As we move to a new year of achieving better production, nutrition, environment, and life for all Filipino people, let us welcome 2021 with an advocacy to raise awareness of the benefits of consuming more fruits and vegetables.
In line with the United Nations’ declaration of 2021 as the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables (IYFV), the Agricultural Training Institute joins the nation in looking at the fruit and vegetable sector holistically as an integral part of the food system. Likewise, the Institute commits to go beyond nutritional benefits and further give awareness on their social, economic, and environmental advantages—consequently addressing the challenges on food availability and sustainability.

A rice farmer cultivates his farm for about four months. He contends with bad weather, pests and diseases, and increasing prices of farm inputs. He also needs about 5,000 liters of water to produce one kilo of rice.
This National Rice Awareness Month, thank a farmer by valuing every grain of rice on your plate.
