Thousands of Farmers Graduated from School-on-the-Air and Blended Course on Swine Production

ROSALES, Pangasinan -- The Agricultural Training Institute in Ilocos Region (ATI-Regional Training Center I) housed the most number of graduates for the School-on-the-Air and Blended Course on Sustainable Swine Production. Totalling 2,331, the graduates comprised of farmers and non-farmers, students, extension workers, among others from the 35 municipalities of Pangasinan.

The participants underwent a blended learning approach in two phases. The first phase was done online via the e-Learning Portal where they should complete the requirements for the courses on Mastering the ABCs of Pig Production and Walang Aray sa AI: Artificial Insemination in Pigs within one month. 

The second phase was an experiential learning held at the International Training Center for Pig Husbandry (ITCPH) in Marawoy, Lipa City, Batangas for their hands-on demo on artificial insemination, piglets processing and castration, heat detection and pregnancy diagnosis. 

The lessons were also aired via DZRD Sonshine Radio on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 – 6 o’clock in the morning from April to May 2016.
