Water is an important resource in rice production. However, the water requirement of rice varies at different growth stages on different crop establishment methods. Proper water management should be done to avoid water or moisture stress that often result in reduced yield.
Proper water management aids in seed germination, promotes seedling vigor and crop growth and development, and improves the nutrient uptake of rice. It also helps control weeds and snails, reduces irrigation costs, and increases the efficiency of farm inputs.
