#TECHNOTIPS: Nutrient Management

nutrient managementFertilizer should be applied where there is the greatest concentration of feeder roots and at least 0.3 to 0.5 meters away from the trunk, up to any point within the drip line.

Animal manure and plant residues as compost are a good source of nutrients for the soil. Apply 10 to 30 tons per hectare around the tree within the canopy drip line and incorporated with the soil.

Green manuring may be substituted for compost application. During the flowering stage, when the proportion of nitrogen to carbon is at maximum, the green manure crop should be “turned under” by plowing or use of tractor.

Hi Allan! As of now, we do not have a course in nutrient management, you may enroll in Organic Fertilizer for Sustainable Agriculture instead. Thank you!
