Papaya has amazing health benefits. It is loaded with vitamin A that helps improve eye health. It also aids in digestion as its enzymes make protein easier to digest. It is a go-to fruit for constipation and other symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Papaya can also boost heart health. It is high in lycopene and vitamin C enhancing the effects of "good" HDL cholesterol. Vitamin C and lycopene also help reduce skin damage that occurs with age.
Ripe papaya is also recommended for pregnant women. It is rich in folate or vitamin B9, a water-soluble vitamin that supports healthy cell division and promotes proper fetal growth and development.
