Did you know that bottle gourd or upo is not only just a vegetable dish? This versatile vegetable is full of water (about 90%), vitamins, and minerals which is perfect in keeping your body healthy and hydrated. The juice from green upo is likewise good for the treatment of chest pains, stomach acidity, indigestion, ulcer, epilepsy, insanity, and other nervous diseases.
Try juicing upo and experience its amazing benefits! Have a small glass, about 50ml, in the morning to give your system a good cleanse. Remember to try a bit of flesh before blending the fruit because it should not taste bitter. If it does, discard it right away. Although it is advised to have upo juice alone and not mixed with other vegetables, you can always add ginger, fresh mint leaves, and some rock salt to spruce up the flavor.
