DILIMAN, Quezon City, Feb. 17 -- To provide continuous access to information on agriculture and fisheries, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has launched a weekly radio program in partnership with the Manila Broadcasting Company.

Dubbed as “Agri Asenso”, the program aims to raise the awareness and appreciation of the general public, especially those in urbanized areas, towards agriculture. Applicable farming practices, agribusiness ideas, and success stories of Filipino farmers will be featured to help boost the country’s agri-fishery industries.

The program will also be a platform for the ATI to inform its target audience of the training and advisory services available to them, as well as of other programs and services provided by the Department of Agriculture (DA) and other bureaus and attached agencies.

The program was launched via DZRH 666 kHz last January 30 and officially went on air on February 6 with seasoned broadcaster Henry Uri and ATI Information Services Division chief Antonieta Arceo as hosts.

The basics of urban agriculture and cacao processing were among the first few topics featured in the radio program which also airs via DZRH News TV on CIGNAL Channel 18, SkyCable Channel 129, Cablelink Channel 3, and GSAT Channel 40.

All episodes are also livestreamed via the ATI (@atiinteractive) and DZRH (@dzrhnews) Facebook pages, and the DZRHNewsTelevision YouTube Channel and the DZRH News website at www.dzrhnews.com.ph.

Apart from this, the ATI continues to partner with the DA for its program “Maunlad na Pilipino” which airs every Saturday, 5:30am, on 702 DZAS-FEBC Radio. (EZV / DA-ATI)
