#TECHNOTIPS: Rabbit Meat | |
Healthy, lean, and a potential alternative to pork, chicken, and beef—maybe it is time to give rabbit meat a taste.
Rabbits are considered ‘healthier’ meat since it is lower in fat and cholesterol than chicken, and higher in protein compared to beef or pork. For those who are looking for a leaner diet, but do not want to go meat-free altogether, rabbit meat can be ideal.
In addition, rabbit meat is eyed as a potential replacement for pork amid the threat of the African Swine Fever. However, not all breeds are fit for human consumption. Meat-type rabbit varieties eat only vegetables and pellets, reproduce fast, and are easy to raise. Some of the most common breeds are the New Zealand White and Californian. (news.abs-cbn.com/ancx)
