Pomelo fruits will be ready for harvesting 5-6 months (166-173 days) from flower opening. During ripening, the fruit's dull skin becomes noticeably bright as its oil glands are now prominent and shiny.
Unlike other fruits, pomelo does not need a chemical flower inducer to bear an off-season harvest. Its fruits also have longer shelf life. They can be kept for over a month under ambient temperature, and up to 6 months under cold storage. (DA-Bureau of Plant Industry)
