ATI Former Director Now Executive Board Member of Global Crop Diversity Trust

PHILIPPINES -- The former director of Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Dr. Mary Ann P. Sayoc, has been recently elected as one of the new members of the Executive Board of the Global Crop Diversity Trust (GCDT). GCDT is an independent international organization working to ensure conservation and availability of crop diversity essential for food and agriculture.
 
Dr. Sayoc, who is currently the general manager of East-West Seed Company, Inc and president of the Philippine Seed Industry Association, was introduced to the public together with the other new board members of GCDT during its 10th year anniversary celebration last February 21, 2014 in Longyearbyen, Norway.
 
The other new board members introduced were Lewis Coleman from the United States of America, Sir Peter Crane from United Kingdom, Prof. Gebisa Ejeta of Ethiopia, Dr. Prem Lal Gautam of India, and Dr. Mauricio Antonio Lopes of Brazil.

Dr. Sayoc served as the Center Director of the ATI-International Training Center on Pig Husbandry in 1985 before becoming the executive director of ATI in 1998.
