agrilink 2009Visitors had a hands-on experience of the e-Learning website during the AgriLink Trade Fair at the World Trade Center Metro Manila last October 8-10, 2009.

Computers were set up in the “Knowledge Nook” of the Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Training Institute (ATI). These provided interested trade visitors the chance for a personal briefing on the e-Learning courses of the e-Extension Program for Agriculture and Fisheries and were ushered around the e-Learning portal. Steps in registering into the website, list of online courses and downloadable techno kits, etc. were sampled to guests. Also, visitors were given the opportunity to register at the nook instantly.

Aside from this, ATI also gave out Information Education Communication (IEC) materials to trade on-goers. There were about 4,232 pieces of various IEC materials like Guide to Citrus Production, Guide to Mango Production, Guide to Broiler Production, Cattle Raising, Integrated Pest Management, Vegetable Production, among others that were handed out.

The AgriLink Trade Fair is an international agribusiness trade exhibition where the government sector, principally the Philippine Department of Agriculture, and the private sector showcase their programs and services, products, technologies, etc. The fair is being conducted by the Foundation for Resource Linkage and Development Inc. (FRLD) and is already on its 15th year. (In photo, Online Resource Assistant Ben Natividad gives a walk-through of the site to a visitor. Photo by Boyet Gabion)
