The monsoons have arrived, and along with the rains comes the risk of catching colds and flu.
Being more than just a garnish, this herb can give you the relief you needed. Mint has a very strong smell that opens up the airways, and allows relaxed breathing. Its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties help relieve inflammation along the respiratory tract.
Nurse your colds and cough by dropping a mint extract in warm water then inhale the fumes through the mouth and push out the steam through your nose. This will reduce the swelling in the throat and in the bronchioles.
Meanwhile, for severe cases of colds, you may take a few mint leaves, crush them, and add them to a cup of boiling water. You may add a small piece of ginger and honey, to taste. Having mint tea at least thrice a day can help you get better faster and boost your immunity.
Stay healthy and well with mint! Start planting it outside your window to keep those diseases at bay!
