Hi Sholenor!

Rice Black Bug can be controlled/eradicated by:

Planting direct seeded rice because this has less tillers than transplanted ones;

Planting RBB-resistant varieties;

Releasing of ducks before planting and after harvest because these animals feed on RBB;

Keeping the right amount of water in the soil after harvest; and

Cutting up to the base of the rice plant during harvest to destroy the habitat of RBB.

Plowing and watering of rice field after harvest can also ensure that RBB adults, nymphs, and eggs will be eradicated.

I hope this information can help.

Hi Sholenor! It seems that you have already na the idea about the the control measure add ko na lng yung sa prevention. . . sa cultural practices especially sa land preparation I guess we must observe clean farming, complete removal of weeds must be practiced, this could prevent the growth of rice black bugs.
May I also suggest that mono-cropping as much as possible must be avoided this farming system attracts the insect-pest like RBB. If we continuously plant rice with-out taking into consideration crop rotation, most likely the presence of RBB will also be inevitable. . .

Hope this could help!
